Did someone pass by and leave no mark? I began to wonder whether our house had ever connected with anyone at all.
I started clearing the snow from the front door. The snow seemed to block out every sound and every piece of news.
After clearing away the snow, I began to hear people's voices little by little. It was I who had cut off contact with the outside world.
It was the first time in so long that I saw another person, yet a new fear came rushing over me.
I want to hide. I want to flee. Not leaving a single footprint across the pure white snow.
Then when I looked back, my own footprints had disappeared too.
