I suddenly came up with a clever idea and asked back, "Then you remember the promise I made?"
The person answered as if it were obvious. "Of course I do. We made that promise together back then."
I was taken aback by the casual answer, but the other person said they had known I would be.
"I promised in advance that you wouldn't remember me."
