As I moved out of the shabby semi-basement room, I became overwhelmed by how much further down I still had to go.
The smell of mold grew worse, and the place where even the meager sunlight had once reached became my refuge.
Since when had my life been such a steep downward slope?
The further down I go, the more momentum I gain. I cannot stop. Endlessly below, below, following where my legs lead me.
I wonder what the end of my life will look like, and yet I close my eyes, dreaming of tomorrow.
