It was the song Mother used to sing while gazing at the sea whenever Father went out to work at sea and left the house empty.
Only today did I understand why she always stopped singing after 'the baby left alone, watching over the house.'
That day, the snail in the well whistled for the very first time.
The moon, hearing the snail's whistle, dropped its hat down into the well.
While looking into the well to pick up that hat, I happened to discover traces of Mother.
Mother's last letter left for me... I became curious about what could be written in it.
When I unfolded that letter, strangely enough, the notes of the song Mother used to sing reached my ears once more.
But at the very end of the letter was written: 'P.S. Clean out the well, will you.'
